I thought it would be neat to have a thread where guys posted the load data they had personally developed in their own rifles for a quick reference for board members. I will post some data from my notes, and if you want to add to it I am sure it will be appreciated. For convenience sake it might be a good idea if we all used the same format one load per post please might also help.I hope everyone that can contributes. Rifleman
[glow=red,2,300]CAUTION THIS LOAD DATA IS NOT FACTORY SAVAGE LOAD DATA,USE THIS INFORMATION AT YOUR OWN RISK,MANY OF THESE LOADS ARE MAXIMUM LOADS AND SHOULD BE APPROACHED WITH CAUTION[/glow] -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rifle: 50 cal Savage 10MLII
Breechplug- Factory Original
Ventliner- Randy Wakeman hardened .031
Powder- VV N120
Charge- 60 grs
Bullet- Barnes Original 300 gr semi spitzer, listed BC .291
Sabot- MMP Orange
Primer- Fed 209A
Muzzle velocity- 2280 fps
Temperature- 65 degrees
Notes- This is a very accurate load in my rifle. Shoots moa at 100 yds and shoots under 2 moa at 300 yds. One of the most accurate long range loads I have ever tested.
Also looking back in some notes on 1-31-06 with a WW209 primer and temperature in the high 30's low 40s the mv was 2248 avg.
65 grains gives an increase of velocity to 2360 fps but accuracy is not as good.

Rifle: 50 cal Savage 10MLII
Breechplug- Factory Original (HIGHLY FOULED)
Ventliner- Randy Wakeman hardened .031
Powder- H322
Charge- 83.0 grs
Bullet- 300 gr Shockwave
Sabot- MMP HPH-24
Primer- CCI 209M
Muzzle velocity- not measured
Temperature- 50 to 85 degrees
Notes- My most consistently accurate load. Consistently sub-MOA, including one 5-shot group consisting of the first shot fired on each of 5 different range visits.
Also, swabbed with alcohol and dry patches after EVERY shot.
When using a fully cleaned, drilled out breach plug, I use 85 grains of H322 (all other components the same). I get virtually identical results as the fouled plug/83 grains comob.

Mountain Mans load: Rifle: 50 cal Savage 10MLII Breechplug- Factory Original (HIGHLY FOULED) Ventliner- Randy Wakeman hardened .031 Powder- H322 Charge- 83.0 grs Bullet- 300 gr Shockwave Sabot- MMP HPH-24 Primer- CCI 209M Muzzle velocity- not measured Temperature- 50 to 85 degrees Notes- My most consistently accurate load. Consistently sub-MOA, including one 5-shot group consisting of the first shot fired on each of 5 different range visits. ___________________________________________________\ That is a very interesting load, I would estimate that load will clock between 2450 and 2500 fps. Great accuracy and almost the speed of duplex. I bet it kicks plenty hard though. I don't have any Shockwaves right now but I would be it would work great with the 300 gr Barnes original. If I thought my back would handle the abuse I would go out and clock this one.I could see this sending a 250 gr SST out at light speed especially with a modified breech plug. Anybody want to volunteer to clock this load and post your results?

250 TMZ, 80 gr H4198, FED209A Primer. Dry swab between shots. MV 2800+. Groups usually in 1 1/2 inches at 100 yds but 4-5 inches at 200. Still huntable IMO.
290 TMZ, 73 gr H4198, FED209A primer. Dry swab between shots. MV 2,550-2,575. Groups usually around 1 inch at 100 yds and around 3 inches or less at 200 yds.
These are powerful loads. DO NOT TRY THEM without starting much lower and working up to them. Your shoulder may tell you to stop before you get there...or before your gun says "stop"
