I just wanted to post this to make people aware of a potential problem with SSS Competition triggers, and their customer service. First off, Fred was very friendly and helpful, however whoever he has answering the phone for him has no people skills and had no intention of taking care of my problem. I ordered an Accutrigger Competition trigger assy ($90) for my 10ML HB and when it arrived my gunsmith immediately said he wouldn't touch it becuse it was unsafe and of poor quality. I inspected the assy and sure enough two of the roll pins that hold the assy together were not seated through the opposing plates. The one that retains the trigger spring was cocked sideways and would have eventually pulled out of the plate. Not safe and definitely not cool. Overall it appeared to be very haphazardly assembled. When I called in to report the problem the lady that answered said they have sold over 30,000 of these and haven't had a single problem. I informed her that they had one now. She basically said I didn't know what I was talking about and I asked to talk to Fred. She initially wouldn't let me talk to Fred but finally put him on the phone. He listened to my concern and said to mail the trigger back and he would reimburse me. Friendly but made it quite obvious that he didn't have time to talk to me. I told him that my last slug gun had a Jewell trigger on it and was looking for another quality trigger for my Savage. He said it was apples and oranges and there was no comparison between his trigger and the Jewell (no kidding!). I thanked him for his time. I immediately put it in the mail and a week later I got a check for $85. I called and talked to the lady who said I only paid $85 for my trigger. I informed her that I paid $90 and she said she would send me a check for $5. Gee, thanks. The thing that bothers me most is that they never admitted that the trigger was bad or offered to replace it with a good one. Again, this is not a shot at Fred but I am not pleased with my experience with Sharp shooter Supply and still need a quality replacement trigger for my 10ML. I know nobody is perfect but I feel the whole situation was handled poorly. I really wish I would have taken some pics of the trigger group, SSS woulD be embarrassed to say the least. At least my Tactical bolt knob worked and looks good. Scott

P.S. Is there any way to retrofit a Jewell for a Remington/Winchester into the Savage 10ML-II? What other replacement triggers would you recommend? HELP!!!

Is the installation pretty straight forward? It looked like the SSS required some hand fitting of shims and hogging out of material fromthe trigger guard. Is the Rifle basix trigger crisp? Thanks!

I'm sure I talked to the same lady, name might be lisa, had a .204 barrel on order, order with them because they were 8 weeks out, called/emailed at 10 weeks, 2 more weeks, called at 12, 3 more, called at 15 2 more, called at 17, 2 more. I said just cancel the order, she responded we'll you'll have to pay a restocking fee!!! I argued and she had to talk with fred to not charge me the restock, she even threw out a "our supplier is backed up with military orders so don't be so impaitent" which I thought was really lame considering the 5 deliveries she had given me.

Now to be fair I never even gave them a chance to make it right, I installed one of there triggers on a Steven's, lasted about 2 months and one of the pins worked loose, I trashed it and went back to timney's

My experiences with SSS have all been positive and have 3 SSS comp triggers on rifles(1 10-ML2, 2 CFs). Tony Boyer shot my Sav varmint rifle only 5 times - it has a 6.5X20 Var X 3 on it and a SSS comp trigger. Fred built the rifle. It is a 262 6PPC USA - he was disappointed in his 0.19" 5-shot group. Fred does good work. Sorry about your experience.

My experience w/Fred Moreo has been very good.I bought the standard SSS trigger for my 22 rimfire and SSS trigger for my 22-250. Both were easy to install and resulted in very good to excellant trigger pulls.
Lisa is Freds wife and she answers the phone, unless they have somebody new doing it. My experience with her has been very good.
