There are some things or memorabilia that a person reflects on for memories of the past and I have one such item that I enjoy seeing every day hanging on the wall. It always gives me pleasure as it reminds me of past hunts and entices me for seeing future hunts. Hope you enjoy the painting called “Two Hunters Afield” that was commissioned by friends as a 40th birthday present. It is also a reminder of certain people in my life that have enriched it with such a gift. Would also enjoy seeing other people’s treasured possession if you are inclined to reveal or share it. Ed

well, here is mine, my father is on the right side in the green plaid coat........ his favorite outdoor attire. The man who took the picture is on the very right. He supplied the picture to us. I believe that all in this picture are now deceased, and most of them are fishing in the "big pond" now. My father was a purchasing agent by trade, but he was good at the outdoors and entertaining, as such his clients are here. I was fortunate enough to have some of that outdoors rub off on me, and a few times was lucky to accompany him on the entertainment trips. These chinook salmon were obtained in the fly fishing stretch of the Pere Marquette River in the mid-michigan area. Most of the guys in the picture had much better drinking and BS'ing skills than fishing, I was there with them and can attest to that as one of the "fishing guides". I have alot of memories on that river...... might have my ashes dumped in there some day (hopefully not too soon). -bubba

Bubba
I agree about hopefully not too soon as I believe we have some unfinished pictures to be taken. Enjoyed seeing the picture of past outdoorsmen and adventure they had. I can picture the interesting talents mentioned and would also have enjoyed sharing such an adventure with them as such a moment would be priceless.

There you go !
I also have another thing my father gave me, sorta, after he died, I got his little german 32acp pistol. He took it off from a dead german officer that no longer could use it. The thing isnt worth much, but its priceless to me to think that it came home across the atlantic by boat in 1945 and has been in our family ever since.......
then there is the german flag and......... etc

I am really sorry to say, that I was too young to appreicate it, but my father had arm-fulls of german long guns from the war, along with swords (armfulls again) and the like. Sold them all for a small song & dance to get rid of them once when we moved from a large house to a more moderate house.
UG, wish I knew then what I do now !
I was in my early teens when that happened.... that one still is fresh in my mind !

This photo brings back memories over the past thirty some years; of old friends, good times and good beer. All game that was harvested by "the boys" holds a special memory with reverenced honour. "Lord, for all, we are truly thankful."

Swede That is a lovely picture that almost calls out “Come visit me and see what I have to reveal”. To be able to roam such countryside in the fall would be a treat. I can’t truly begin to imagine the treasured memories created here but sense from your account they are treasured. Thanks for sharing that. Ed
