Help! Just picked up a used sav 10 ml II for my cousin, it's in good shape and price but its missing the BP wrench/removal tool. Does anyone have a spare they would be willing to sell? Is the ratchet one worth buying?

Is the ratchet one worth buying? yes I dont have to remove any action screws to get the breech plug out. I love the ratcheting tool money well spent.

I agree with Shooter. The ratcheting BP wrench was definitely money well spent.

I got my EZ-Tool in the mail this morning. Great tool! Worth every penny to not have to loosen the action screw. Thomas Scott is a class act also!

Ditto on the EZ tool, works great and you can take out the breech plug to clean after sighting in without having to worry about POI change. Getting my friend one for Christmas.

For those who rather make a tool you can take a 7/16 socket and grind or file it down with an extension and1/4 ratchet you may already have cost pennies see photo >>>

Blood trailer, what are the three pieces used to make the tool? 7/16" socket, what's plugged into it and what's the thing that looks like a nut at the bottom that connects to the ratchet? Thanks

7/16 socket 3/8 drive , 3/8 drive to 1/4step down and in the photo1/4 socket cap ( Craftsman 3 pc. Socket Cap Set Sears item# 00943303000 Mfr. model# 43303 )but you can use a 1/4 drive socket grind less (so it will be longer 11/2 to 11/4 ) and a 1/4 ratchet or 1/4 socket cap (3/8drive cap and ratchet box wrench)skipping the step down (these were extra things in my shop) Look under tips section breach plug removal tools some others have made great tools

Ditto on the socket. I used a 1/4" drive 10mm socket and it works like a champ. (I have been known as a tightwad too)

You have to know that some have to stretch every penny and others just like the pride of doing it them selves
