DW
That is a lovely rack and congratulations.
Now that the cordial requirement is done lets get nasty and push for a picture of where that rack came from and some additional hunt info. Yep middle aged attitude that you will unavoidably experience soon enough. ;D ;D
Kidding aside it would be nice to see a picture if available where that rack came from.

Long story-short. Pressed for time and a hack shot not worthy of a read.
Question for anyone. I don't have a good place to leave a head outside to air out. Guy at work recommended burning the tissue and hair off with a propane torch. The smell is still pretty bad for leaving in the house.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Boil in a pot that lets only the skull plate submerged. With a rack like that shouldn't be to hard. Not going to get a head mount huh? Must be to small. ;D ;D
Very nice rack!

On a freshly skinned out skull cap like int he pic, a powerwasher will remove most of the tissue and membrane. after that a heavy coating of regular salt will help eliminate any odor. let it all dry out and you'll be golden.

Very nice buck! Looks to me like he will score in the mid 140's.
Best way to clean up the skull cap is to submerge up to the burr at the base of the antler in boiling water. Dip it in about 30 seconds at a time and light scrub with a wire bristle brush then repeat.
Won't take many cycles to be clean clean.
Again, congratulations on an exceptional buck!!!! ;D

The 250SST has never failed me.

That is a very nice buck.
I like to boil the skull cap and work between the skull and hide with a screwdriver. Cut around the antler burr and that's it. Not nearly as smelly as burning hair.

I didn't know Remington makes a 250SST in rifle calibur. I see the box in the background that everybody else missed. Seriously, very nice buck DW.
