Everyone seems to lean toward H4198. I myself have been using it, but am about to run out. I have some IMR 4198 on hand even though I know they are not inter-changeable, is there something about it that is not desirable? Thanks guys.

I only use the imr, if you're going to sub the H with it be sure to use a couple of grains less of the imr.

I did some tests with it a couple of weeks ago using a 10/60 - 5744/H4198 duplex and a 300 gr. Rem. .458 bullet. I had been shooting this load for the past two months and everytime I test it, my velocity is right around 2455- 2470 fps. Since I had a can of IMR 4198 on the shelf, I decided to try substituting it for the "H" What I found was the velocity dropped to 2395 fps. Hope this helps! Richard
