A few weeks ago I posted a thread on a 341 yard kill (Long Range with the .45). In it I said the recovered 275 gn Parker BE "apparently came apart" in the deer's chest cavity. Yesterday, I found that bullet at camp, cleaned it up and weighed it. I was wrong - the Parker retained 214 of the original 275 grains, or 78%. I regret the error and feel even more strongly that this is an excellent game bullet at any range likely to be shot with a muzzleloader. Harley

I believe the 275 Parkers Is the Bad Bull muzzle-loading preffered bullet too. Longer distance is probably where it shines. That was one heck of a shot Harley!!!

Bill, I've listed a number of sources for various components/tools for the .45, saboted and sabotless; you can pick and choose what you may need. Your questions: 1. The Parker 275BE - see below. 2. Yes, I size, then knurl. I use the .448 Lee die (see source below), then knurl between two "bastard" files, one stapled to my bench and the other hose clamped to a file-sized wooden block. After two passes between the files I place the base of the bullet over the muzzle of my rifle. If the muzzle "cups" the bullet I make one or more passes with the files until there is no acceptance of the bullet. Takes maybe a minute per bullet. A short starter is needed to begin the bullet. 3. Sizing die (see below) 4. My load is a duplex, 12/47 SR4759/A2015, one .030 wool wad (see below), the CCIM primer and the Parker 275BE. www.leeprecision.com for the bullet dies. They are not listed in the diameters you want. Go to "Lube & Size Kit", then look for custom orders. The price is $25 per set with a $4 shipping charge per order, not per die. Expect to wait 5-6 weeks. You can't order over the Internet. Just send a check to the address indicated. Possum Hollow Products, Inc. for "special bore guide...Savage ML .50 cal". This is a threaded Delrin rod that keeps all the solvent and other goo out of your receiver. $20 delivered from 1-260-782-0735. www.parkerproductionsinc.com for the 275BE. (#50-275BE). www.sageoutfitters.com for the veggie wads (#26462) if you want to try them. Also at www.cabelas.com (#IJ-21-4922) www.midsouthshooterssupply.com for the dry wool wads (#001064400D) Gunn Innovations, Inc. (1-888-271-2323) for the .45 caliber SpinJag Loader (#SJL45), the SpinJag Loader/Cleaner (#SJ45), and the SpinJag Starter (SJS45). Modern Muzzleloading, Inc (1-256-260-8950)for the 195 gn Barnes Red Hot (#900580) www.cabelas.com T/C SW 200 (#IJ-215067); and .45 caliber Harvester Sabots (#IJ-214555)

Thanks Harley because I needed same information! Did you guys see the loading video on BADBULL website.I think there talking about buying a parker 275 with rings for easier loading sabotless. Check it out and see what you guys think. Its about half way through video. Last summer Bob Parker sent me a half dozen of these to try out with mmp short sabots. I had told him the mmp's [the supplied sabots] were too loose in my Savage and was having to use the Red Crushed Ribs for good accuracy. He said at the time they were considering manufacturing these 275 BE's with the rings.. The outside diamenter of the ring measures .4528 and the inside diameter varies from .446-.4485. He also let me know that the BE's were sold in bulk without sabots. These could be the ticket for those of you who shoot sabotless. Good luck, Zen
