I JUST WENT BACK TO MY THREAD ABOUT THE BREACH PLUG AND SABOTS. I SEE WHERE I WAS TOLD TO TRY AN ALCOHOL PATCH EVERY SHOT WHEN USING 5744. WHAT KIND OF ALCOHOL? RUBBING OR IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE? THANKS

DW Quote under- I just have to ask -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First I run a patch soaked in denatured alcohol down the bore, then flip the patch and give it a couple more passes. Follow with a dry patch both sides. Above 70* I stay home. 60*-70* 15 min. between shot & reload. 50*-60* 12 min. wait 40*-50* 9 min. wait 30*-40* 6 min. wait Below 30* pretty much shoot, swab, reload. Nothing seems to be etched in stone with these guns, more than one way to skin a cat, just have to find what works for you.

Denatured solvent alcohol, usually in the paint and solvent section.
