180 grain 35 caliber bullet.
It took a lot of workup and a lot of components including too much Lil'Gun powder and base wads.
What needs to be remembered is that a large diameter and light weight equals poor BC. The two main advantages for light weight are lower recoil and or higher velocity. High velocity and low BC does not really help extend your range by very much. IMO, find an accurate bullet that you really want to use.

In a 45 cal bullet, 185gr, but accuracy was not great. However, the 40cal 180gr XTPs work great in the blue 50/40 MMP sabots if you don't try to push them at light speed. 38gr of 4759 with them worked pretty well for me and the recoil was exceedingly pleasant. (About 1 1/2" groups were common) Don't know what the velocity was but suspect it was likely in the 2100' range.

Edge is right on with what he said. However, to answer your question: 185 gr .451 XTP and a 30/60 4759/322 duplex at 3,150 fps and fair accuracy. No wads or other fuss.
Killed a fat woodchuck at less then 25 yds with this load. Extreme Terminal Performance was realized. However, this is basically a uselss load. Any 250 or 300 gr spire pointed .451 in the 2500-2600 fps range will have a long range edge in trajectory and a short range edge in bullet performance on deer.

XTP - eXtreme Terminal Performance takes on a whole new meaning in this context! ;D I once did the same with a 35 Remington at about 15' on a ground squirrel. Sure simplified the cleaning job.
