Has anyone tried the LimbSaver Barrel De-Resonator? There claim is it ...."is designed to dampen out unwanted vibration by shortening the overall settling time of the of the barrel. The accuracy benefit is immediate, providing sub-minute angle groups for over the counter factory ammo."......
ok what are your thoughts, have you tested one, did it work/fail, was it a waste or worth $20 ? ..... what kind of group shrinking from what you presently have now would it take to convince you to pay $20?

I have one I put on my 25.06 but haven't shot it yet to see if it makes a difference or not.

One thing to think about,is that if you use the supplied ram-rod it is going to be in the way. They do seem like they can work to dampen the vibration from the barrel.I think you would have to experiment with its location on the barrel though, not just slide it on and shoot.

Jim Carmichel (I think), formerly Gun Editor for Outdoor Life, said it was no good.

I got one for a center fire rifle. I never gave it a real test. It fit very tight and hard to get off. I was afraid it would ruin the bluing if left on for any length of time. I thought it looked dumb and ugly.

I have always been intrigued by them. It appears you could get one of the large ones over the barrel.
I would not get one for two reasons. The first being I am completely happy with the accuracy I get from my ML stock blue barrel. The second is I have a nephew in the state of Wisconsin that is after me to hunt with him. Open sights or no magnifying scope during ML season there. That means the front sight has to stay.

I was setting up my ultra-lite 308 for a moose hunt. Normally I use 125 gr bullets for white tail. It will shoot a .25 cent size hole all day. The 165 gr bullet did not want to shoot as well. Hole size was 1" to 1 1/2". The barrel is very thin most of it length to cut the weight. I added the LS. to the barrel and the hole size went back to normal size. I feel that the heavy bullet caused the ultra-lite barrel the do some strange things and the LS. tamed it. Hate the way it looks so it is only there when I need it. On a real heavy barrel I am not sure if you will see the same results.
