My 10MLII, 10FLP, and 11 GLNS all got new trigger return springs this afternoon. If I can do it... must be easy. First- The FLP came with the lighter spring installed and it didn't make much difference other than it was due for a good cleaning anyway. Started by spraying out the actions with brake clean, then compresed air. Thanks to everyone here that has made this swap in the past and left tips I found using search. (1) For anyone getting ready to try this just- Pull the C,( maybe E?) clip that retains the trigger pin. Watch closely to see what direction it flies off in. Go find it / order another/ or take the pin to the hardware store to find and buy 3 replacments.(just in case) (2) No need to do more than slide the trigger out just enough to free up the return spring and replace it with the one you got from SSS. (3) Replace trigger pin and c clip. Slide bolt back in action. Did I mention that it's easier to do this with the bolt out and the action not cocked. (4) I've yet to destroy a firing pin by dry firing a gun, didn't today either while checking to see if everything was back together right. If you miss the hole in the tang with the end of the spring it may wedge under the red insert and look right, but, if your 10 ML II is like mine, it will fire off about half the time when closing the bolt. Pull it back apart and don't be so careless next time! Jeff

It's an even easier job if you use a small rod (nail?) as a follower to keep everything aligned.

I don't have a digital scale to measure pull, but would guess at the minimum I have set mine: ~ one pound.

Could you be a little more specific on the replacement. I am assuming that SSS is Savage Shooters Supply, and what spring would one ask for. Thanks

Ask for the "light" trigger spring for the Savage 10ML- II. They don't always have them in stock. I think I paid a total of around $11 including postage.

my replacement spring resulted in a constant 1 3/4 pound trigger pull. I am well pleased.

When I called sharp Shooters Supply on Monday I had a nice conversation with a lady who said they had a good stock of the varmint weight trigger return springs that adjust from aprox. 1.5# to 4#. The stock spring adjusts from around 2.5 to 6. I own 2 acuu-trigger savage actions besides the 10ML. The springs where the same for all of them and cost 5$ apiece. Shipping was two bucks and they were in my mail box 3 days later. I wish I owned scales to measure the pull but as long as all three are close enough that trigger pull is not a distraction,("Did I forget to take the safety off, again?"),they will be close enough. I'll take all three to the range, shoot them back to back, and see if the finger can feel any differance. Most of my focus when shooting at the range goes to the trigger pull once I see the sight picture.(No flags to watch were I shoot) IMHO-It won't matter for hunting but for range shooting and turkey shoots the lighter pull will be nice. Having all three firearms going bang at at aprox. the same trigger pull will be sweet.
