I shot my new 10ML-II SS with N200 and here is what I know so far.
Hornady 250 Grain SST with supplied sabots
110 yards from bench to target. Pact II 20' from muzzle. Simmons 3x9x40 at 9X (part of gun package)
44.0 grains equal 1650 or so fps. and shotgun sized groups
46.0 1750 fps
48.0 1800 fps
50.0 1850 fps 1 1/2" Groups
52.0 1950 fps 1" Groups
54.0 2070 fps 1" Groups
All loads were CCI primers, charges weighed on a RCBS pro scale. Trigger set at 3# with RCBS trigger gauge. Barrel lead slug lapped after initial cleaning down to 600 grit.
Temp 30 degrees 1/8 value wind at 25 to 30 mph.
Barrel cleaned with cotton patch between shots.
The bullets that came with the gun (Hornady XTP) with 45.0 grains of 5744 at 110 yards shot at 2075 +- 10 fps and went into 1"
Sabots were recovered and showed no signs of stress and all petals were intact.
RBinAR you said start at 45.0 grains and I am going past 54.0 now. Any ideas on what I am going for here? Be nice to have a strain gauge, but I am guessing I should keep pouring the N200 to her as the groups seem to be tightening up as I get around the 2K mark, but would like to see 2300 to 2400 fps with this powder.
Plastic stock is going into the trash can as soon as hunting season ends. POS. I am sure a good glass bedding job and true pillar bed will do wonders for this gun as the plasic stock seems to rub every place and tightening the rear screw makes the front one tighter. So I know it is flexing the action.
