I know this was covered on old Savage Forum but thought it would be good to collect input on new Forum here.
What is a good source to buy replacement vent liners? Also, one hole or three and why? My 10 ML-II came with one hole.
Thanks

One hole, mid south shooters supply. Three hole, Savage.

8-)There is still some debate over the best vent liner. The one you choose is up to what one really wants from the 10-ML.
If you shoot finicky powder (like Imr-4227), very light weight bullets, or loose fitting sabots, then the three hole liner is not just an option it is a must. The three hole liner coupled with a hot primer will solve any ignition problems that may be caused by the above adverse circumstances.
Besides the above it is a matter of power and how you'd like to achieve that power. With the right load and good fuel speeds to about 2375 or 2400fps (250 grain bullets) can be had with any vent liner. If you prefer to go faster than 2400fps or want a special load with the single hole liner that's possible but may require a duplex powder charge.
The three hole liner will provide better ignition and shoot single powders like H322, Xmr-2015, N120, Imr-4198, and H4198 to over 2500fps (as much as 2650fps) with no special load or the need for a sub-base.
So decide what you want and use the liner you wish. If standard loads or using a duplex are your cup of tea then the single hole liner is fine. If adverse conditions exist or you wish fast loads with a single powder then the three hole liner is needed.
Another thing that has been mentioned is neither cost that much, so why not try both?
