Edge, do you get same speeds when you start a new liner with your modification, if you have changed one yet. I have the two different designs. The first which is just a drill bushing press fit approx. 1/2 inch from the primer. It has a 0.025 diameter hole. The primer crud prevents erosion, and it has NOT ever been changed. If you allow the primer crud to build up it actually constricts the 0.025 diameter! This liner has well over 300 shots of 50 grains Lil'Gun!! MY theory is that the primer crud coats the id of the liner upon firing, and the hot gasses burn most of it off with the combustion of the main charge. The new design, where the breechplug has been bored to a 0.380 diameter and the vent liner placed 0.850 deeper than its old position only has about 50 shots through it, and does NOT have any real history on performance. Dave D. and RB have said that they are also trying this design. This should speed up any load benefit decisions regarding this design. Here are the two designs side by side. edge.

:)edge i only have about 25 shots through it so far.i have shot my best group to date with this gun with this plug.i'm thinking that this design raises pressures faster because today any thing over 65grs of 4198 went to chit.i was useing the three hole vent which may not be nessasary.i'm going to put the 1 holer back in and see what happens.i also was useing the 200sst's which we know that sabot is very sensitive.

i have shot my best group to date with this gun with this plug....SNIP.....i also was useing the 200sst's which we know that sabot is very sensitive. My guess is that you should start with a 45 bullet in 250-300 for testing. You said that you shot your best group, what was THAT load? You also said that over 65 grains was too much, previously what was too much?? Thanks, edge.

:)edge the load that shot 5/8" was edge plug ,1 hole vent ,fed primer, 200sst and 60grs of 4198.i switched today to the 3 holer, fed primer,200sst's 65,70,75grs of 4198.i could not find the sabots but because the groups were so irratic i think the sabots blew.i did shoot a 2 1/2" group with 65grs and a win primer.all loads had a glued subbase.
