Anybody, I think RB can provide this. Loads for the 1 hole vent liner is very extensive, but there hasn't been any data released (as far as I know) for the 3 hole vent liner. Ever since I shifted to the latter one, I have lost all accuracy. Please provide any existing data. Thanks Buff

buff, same here. i was using 48g of 4227 and a one hole ventliner. 2 1/2 inch a 100 yards with iron sights. 4 to 5 inch with the three hole. the sabots are one pice but show stress cracks on the base. i'm going to drop back to 42g and work back up. with the higher pressure of the three hole, i don't think max single loads are needed. how do your sabots and primers look?

Walt, It's nice to know that I'm not alone. It gets really frustrating especially when you have to wait for cooling time. My sabots look perfectly fine, with or without the subbase. Same with the primers. I use 3.1cc and/or 3.4cc of 5744. I don't want to back-up even less than 3.1cc lest I lose speed. Buff

Walt, It's nice to know that I'm not alone. You aren't alone-- I destroyed four three hole ventliners in one day, with moderate charges of 5744. They became two hole vent-liners in as few as 25 - 30 shots, and there was nothing remotely resembling "groups" left. One that lasted just 28 - 29 shots with 45 gr. 5744 250 gr. Shockwaves was sent to One-Shot / HB - it is mighty ugly.

I think that it is really important to ALWAYS record where your FIRST shot goes! That goes double during the Summer when your groups may open up!
During the Summer I use a 3" rule when devloping loads. If the barrel stays warm and the loads stay within 3 inches, then you should be able to tweak them down to the 1 inch range will a cool barrel. This does NOT count blown sabots, if you show signs of sabot failure after a good couple of groups, then you MAY need some serious cool down time.
