so has anyone tried h110 in the savage, it is easily available and has a burn rate in the range of some of the more commonly used powders, also I have some h108 i want to try as well, it is a surplus powder I got from pat mcdonald out of ohio, it is 13 % faster then h110 and I have had really good success in my 44 mags with it and it is cheap, I bought 2 8lb jugs several years ago at 5 dollars a lb. !! and btw my rifle is supposed to be here today, lets keep our fingers crossed. rifleman:
Before you shoot any take some and put it in your hand. What size is the granule? Is it a small ball powder? If so is it small enough to fall through the vent liner?
If it is that's not a very good condition for shooting. I've shot small ball powders in the 10-ML (like W296) but you will find that the small cylinders are a much better choice.
Another thing H110 or a powder like it (N110) is about as fast a powder as one cares to shoot in the 10-ML with the normal 250 grain bullet. There may be some room for shooting lighter weight bullets.
All that said, I have to admit I've shot H110 before. It takes some effort and I think there are several better choices but it can be done.

HEy rb thanks, You are right it h110 is a very small ball powder and messy as heck when it spills, would probably stick on the sides of the barrel going down too. h108 is almost exactly same as h110 in appearance. thanks for saving me the trouble, Rifleman

Rifleman, You won't go wrong getting V V-110,120 and 5744 to play with at first. I've tried nearly everything and 110/120 will be with me this fall in the woods, whether the bullet be a 200 or 250.
