Here I sit on a Sunday morning, looking out the window at the rain. It's rained here since we got her Friday night. It's been a very wet year up here, a lot wetter than normal. I have water standing in the yard. My septic tank was full, again, from ground water and had to have it pumped again . It's a $48 touch each time and that's twice in the last month. The grass is a foot tall and way too wet to attempt to mow it. If this keeps us I'll need a swather Yesterday afternoon my friend and I went onto the lake when there was a bit of let up in the rain. Instead of rain there was a fine drizzle or mist coming down. I'm happy to report that I boated 3 walleye. All are now filleted and cooling in the fridge and will be enjoyed at lunch today . Had several more bites but seem to have lost my touch and missed them. Had one more up beside the boat but it broke free. Likely just had it hooked in the outer lip. I'm hoping that this weather clears off and can get out again. I still have a dozen leeches to get rid of

RAF - your cabin is at Candle right?
If so - do you know if there are still fish in the trout pond/lake right by there? Last time I was there was when I was about 10 years old so my info is a little dated.
We are planning a camping trip up that way for Canada Day and would like to have that trout pond as an option for the young ones.

Yup, trout pond is still there and they still stock it once a month. Used to go up there regularly but haven't for years. We were there on the May long weekend but weather not got and no fish caught. They would have just stocked it then and it usually takes a few days before the trout start to bite.
