OK flame on all you TRADITIONALIST if you haven't read or don't care to read about the huha about the lead ban it is coming to you soon. We all have to ban together center fire, in-line and you dihards with your head in the sand that will only talk about your dear PRB. Well I was I repeat I WAS one, I have 6 TC Hawkins 4 with a 1/45 twist, 45,2-50 & 54 1 with a 1/66 and 1 Flinter with 1-70 GM-barrel and the ONLY thing I can legally shoot is a BARNS SABOT because I HAVE TO, too be legal {except target shooting and target sandwiches need LOTS of mayo and I am on a diet} :'(and they wont shoot in the rifles above and at $22.00+ for #15 it sucks. So if I want to hunt with my ML I have to get a new barrel 1/28 with iron sights{100 yds max} if I want to hunt here in the Kalif. lead ban {condor buzzard zone} area. And don't say move..... Now what is your thoughts about this inlines and PRB shooters on the same page only advantage I see is velocity and with my eyes 100 yds is max sabots or PRB we have to ban together and please be nice ?

I feel your pain Nimrod. I've got one in-line and a half dozen sidehammers, including flint, and have to admit I favor the sidehammers. First of all, I wouldn't give up on those TC's with the 1 in 45 (48?) twist. Try a couple of the lighter weight and shorter Barnes standard XTP pistol bullets in a variety of sabots. I'd bet you can get one to shoot with that twist. Look at the ones for the 45 Long Colt, ACP, and GAP. Check them out here. www.midwayusa.com/browse/BrowseProducts.aspx?t=82579&pageNum=0&tabId=1&categoryId=17803&categoryString=9315***652***19785***9015***7563***Yeah, they are expensive - but no more so than the Powerbelt bullets a lot of guys shoot. After all, once you get a good load working, how many bullets do you shoot in a hunting situation? Use the lead stuff for plinking and target shooting. You might even be able to work out a Barnes/sabot load that shoots to the same point of aim as a patched ball load, so you can practice with one and hunt with the other. Believe me, the whole country is sorry about Kalifornia, and has about had its fill.
