I am looking for a gun to carry in my pocket, preferably and automatic. I bought a KARR pistol and was talked out of carrying it. This was due to the ease of the trigger pull.(10 lbs) I then looked at the SigSauer pocket carry pistols. They also had the same trigger pull. Is their a quality line of automatic pocket pistols with a heavier trigger pull? Do the KARR pistols seem too dangerous to carry to anyone else? What about the KelTech pocket pistols? Are they quality guns?

A 10lb trigger pull is not easy. There are some guys out there with 3.5 and 5lb triggers on their baby Glocks. My favorite pocket pistol is still a J frame Smith and with some of the exotic alloys the ammo weighs more then the gun. As far as autos I like the Kahr PM9. The Keltec is small but I hate the large gaps between the slide and frame and the mag release on the P11 sucks, hard to work and easy to break. The PF9 is a improvement as far as the mag release but still has the large gaps for pocket lint. If you have big pockets a P225 SIG is great for CCW.

The new Ruger LCP might be what you are looking for. Very light and easy to carry. Comes in .380 ACP. Mike

I'll probably get beat up for this but.....The AMT 45 is an awesome little double action auto that slides into a pocket and packs a punch.
My friend has this pistol. Not sure if AMT still exist...or what the model is. However, I've been pestering him to sell it to me for about 10 years because it's what I want in a pocket pistol. Small, slippery, DA and pushes a big bullet. To make it go bang you really have to mean it.
I've shot this gun with OK accuracy at 15 yds or so. My friend can't hit a milk jug with it at 10! ;D. (That's why I want it...one day it will be mine)

I have an AMT .380 Back Up. The only thing I dont like about it is the weight. It weighs more than I like for easy carry. Mike

You can put a two pound trigger on any Glock in 10 minutes.

If you have really big pockets a 1911 is a good choice.

mike3132, I owned a .380 back-up. A downscaled version of the .45 I mentioned above. Have you ever had the mechanism that runs the hammer (you can watch it work just above the trigger as you squeeze) become disengaged while squeezing? I did. If I remember, there is a small pin that this gadget is attached to. Nothing but the gun frame housing seemed to hold this peice securely. In my case, it wasn't secure at all and came off once in a while when I would practice with it. The .45 has a more positive design feature in that area and I can't see the same thing happening with it. BTW, I sold the 380 because it was too small to pistol whip someone after such a catastrophic malfunction. ;D

The company that bought up the tardemarks and rights of High Standard is back making the excellent rimfire target pistols and also bought the rights to the AMT pistols. You can get the AMT Backups plus the Automags.

The Backup in .400 CorBon looks awesome. I'm waiting for the AutoMag IV.
