Has anyone tried the new 50 caliber all copper slugs, new from hornady. They require no sabots. package claims 1" groups at 100 yards. Right pricy at $18.99 per 15 at Walley World. Lou

If you're talking about the FPB, I don't believe it's all copper, I'm fairly sure it has a lead core.

I just returned from the range. Shot 15 Hornady FPB 350 gr. bullets. I paid $19.00 for them. Came home and ordered two more packs from Midsouth at $12.74 a pack. I like them. I used BH 209, three different loads. 100 110, and 120 gr. My gun is an Encore Endeaver, the scope is a Mueller, 2-7 w/a red dot. Shooting at a 100 yards from a rest, no wind, warm. Shot all 15 one after the other, a little rest every 5 shots. My gun is sighted in at 100 yards with 250 gr SST pushed by 110 gr. of BH 209. The 100 gr load (5 shot ) was 5 inches low and 3 in. center to center, and 1 in right. The 120 gr (5 shot) was funny, Three shots within the 100 gr group and two slightly to the right. The 110 gr load put 4 0f 5 touching and 1 almost. this group was within the other two. This bullet takes a starter rod but it is easy, goes down smooth and easy. Barrel got warm, no appearent harm. Thats all for this outing, tell you more next time.

In the paragraph explaining my range outing I forgot to mention I cleaned the bore after each shot with three dry patches on a brush not a jag

I have tried them in my TC Omega with dismal results and in my Knight Disc Elite, which likes this bullet. I tried it with BH209 in both guns but in the Knight, its one of the gun's favorite loads. With 110 gr of BH209, I can get 1.5" groups at 100 yards from the Knight. It was my back up gun's load for elk last week. I did not need it though. Or the primary gun for that matter, but that's a different story.
Back tothe FPB bullets, they are a little hard to start in the Knight but a firm wap on the ball starter and it is in the bore. They go down the bore fairly easily and the huge hollow base will obturate to fill the rifling on the shot. I will pick up more of them when Wally World puts them on clearance.

Has anyone used these in a WHITE mz ?
I wonder if they would be too loose in the bore?
