According to my buddy, the DNR has predicted the first week of Nov. for the peak rut. So if they are correct this week will possibly be the last chance to get one while he is on his regular routine.
Guy said he saw a buck chasing a doe across a field tonight. Didn't see any does out of the tree tonight but the deer were moving earlier after the rain moved through despite the strong winds. Did get to see 3 young bucks tonight though while in the tree and saw a couple cruising the fields on the way home.

Only got to hunt Sat.&Sun. last week but the rut seemed to take off last Wed. Last Sat was a good day, at least in the morning, saw 4 bucks in the AM but the action really slowed in the PM.
We are pretty close, I hunt primarily in Belmont county. Used to hunt up around Brilliant a few years back, not sure if that is Jeff. county or not, but it was a good area.

I was Hunting in southern knox county today and The bucks are still in the mood. I watched smaller bucks moving all afternoon just looking for does and I heard one very loud but brief buck fight. From what I witnessed they are still in the rut.
