This morning was cold! Deer was moving! I hunted in a makeshift blind I threw together on the ground. I settled in. Thirty mintues later, movement to my right. A small herd of deer slipping single file thru thick cover. The first one steps out of cover into woods. THWACK!!! 43 yards! 125 grain thunderhead finds the tip of left lung and liver. Doe piles up 40 yards away!!!! Waiting for deer to expire to begin recovery operations. Twigs breaking to my left ....behind me. Ease around...another doe slipping down ridge, thru branch, and up beside me. Twenty yards....THWACK!!! Heart shot. Quartering to me. Pass thru, like the first one. Deer runs back from where it came ...uphill! Piles up at 60 yards! After a small wait.... roll sleeves up and begin field dressing first deer...then second deer.
