Got out Saturday morning to take my new Terminator for a test spin. About an hour after sun rise a nice doe walked into my shooting lanes and I took a bead on her, just as I flipped the safety off a fawn comings running into the field. I passed on the shot. 20 minutes later this little 8 pointer comes in and stands out about 35 yards right behind a couple trees. I shift in my stand and I found a shooting lane right on the sweet spot but I would have to thread a needle, a shot I never would have taken with my compound. Well I took shot and it found the mark. The buck ran about 40 yards and dropped. I've put a ton of shots through this new bow and it payed off. Not a monster but a good first with this new crossbow.

Congratulations on the harvest.
I have never hunted with a crossbow, in fact only shot one twice (in the store). It seemed to be fast, but was noisy. I am guessing it could be silenced a bit with proper anti-vibration accessories.
Just curious, does a hunting class crossbow have the range and penetration energy comparable to a compound bow?

Thanks guys.
Daveexx1, I was a little worried about the noise but you can tweak them to dampen some of the noise but it's still louder then a conventional bow. I was concerned about deer jumping the string and the guy that set up the bow laughed and told me not to worry about it. We he was right, at 340 feet per second that bolt found it's mark quick. The bolt was a pass through and was buried in the ground so deep you coundn't even see the fletchings.
And the accuracy for me is good to 50 yards with 2" groupings and I bury about 12" - 14" of the bolt into a crossbow target which is a little denser than a normal block.
One thing I'll tell you though, I'll never get a second shot at a following deer where you may.
