Getting your bolts out of your crossbow in the field other than taking a random shot. I'm new to crossbows and lost a couple bolts this weekend trying a couple different methods. This is going to get expensive if I don't get some help.

Not sure if you can do this or want to try but the way I do it is to take the bolt out, click the safety off, pull back on the string and with my thumb pull the trigger.

Doesn't work on my Parker - it has a dry-fire safety feature so a bolt must be in it. I take a field pt and shoot it. I normally unload it at home into a tgt. When I go away, I keep a small tgt in the truck.

Put a Cube or equivalent target in the truck and fire a target bolt inot it at the end of the day. If you do not have room to carry a target the bow will wait until you get home. "Not sure if you can do this or want to try but the way I do it is to take the bolt out, click the safety off, pull back on the string and with my thumb pull the trigger." Sounds like a good way to loose a thumb.

I keep a crappy arrow in the truck with a field point. I shoot it in the ground......pull it up....wipe it off.... put it back in it's spot.

I use a rope cocker to cock & uncock. I have a short bolt that I place in the xbow to unload. Just make sure that you have a good hold on the rope cocker to let the string down slowly. Much easier than it sounds.

I just shoot a field point on a spare bolt, into the ground. I do this from the tree stand late in the day,it also helps build confidence in your shooting. I mostly pick out a leaf on the ground at diffrent yardages each time, and let her rip! Ron
