Back in the blind, again. Got into my blind with 25 minutes to spare and got things ready. Same as every other morning . Right at legal shooting time a deer appeared and quickly moved behind a hill in front of me. When it came out it was the biggest mule deer buck I've ever seen. He walked by me at about 40 yds, stopping a couple of times to look my way. (Probably knew I didn't have a mulie buck tag) Not only were his antlers higher than any I've seen but when he turned his head towards me I could see that those antlers were way out past his ears. He calmly walked off. His gate reminded me of a muscle bound body builder. After this everything else was pretty meek. 2 white tail does, another white tail, gender unknow and only saw it for a second. Then a 4th white tail came by. A little 3 x 3 buck that got a pass. Finally a smaller mulie buck walked by as if he didn't have a care in the world. Later in the morning I did see some mulie does but they were over 300 yds away and I would have had to shoot through some or past some small trees. Not a high percentage shot so I didn't take it. The weather has been getting cooler and it was -5 C all morning. Luckily there was no wind. Gonna try again in a few days.

Interestine read RAF. My son and his wife came down from NW Ar. to go hunting with me. Up at 4:30, taking my medicine and my wife helping me to get dressed for the hunt. They got me into my heated hunting shack nearly an hour before daybreak. They called by radio about twenty minutes later and told me they were all set up in another heated cabin. My son then called with: "Here is the plan; no does until noon. At noon we will decide to take a doe or not to." He didn't know the deer were listening in on our transmissions. During the morning hours together we seen over twenty does and no bucks. About 2:00 O:clock he said ok, take a doe or buck. Neither of us got another chance at a doe or buck but the day was enjoyable. They had to home last night. Ben

Yesterday was another trip to the blind. Again I didn't see what I wanted. A small white tail buck and 2 does and 2 fawns. My partner did get a big mulie buck which resulted in a long drag and exhausted muscles and lungs.

Haven't commented on your hunts much but I sure am routing for you RAF. How long do you have? Our Gun season starts this Saturday, Nov 15 and ends Dec 16.

We've got to Dec 8 and then that's it. Got 4 more weeks. A lot depends on the weather. Cold we can handle but a heavy snow and we're hooped. Had that a few years back and hunting for us ended abruptly

This is getting frustrating. Every time out I'm seeing fewer and fewer deer. Today one white tail doe with her fawn. Other hunters are seeing the 'cause I hear the shots . Sooner or later it will turn around. I just have to keep with it.
