I know this belongs in the shotshell reloading section, and I have a post there, but the last post is about 6 month old. So I'm posting here to try to increase my chances of getting a responce.
Can anyone recomend a good source for reloading shotshells? I've loaded handguns and rifles for over 15 years now, but never tried anything for my shotguns. With the price of 3" shells getting over $25 a box, I think I could recoup my costs in a years time even at my minimal shooting needs. I'm looking to reload 3" and maybe 3.5" 12ga shells with heavy payloads of #4, 5, or maybe 6 shot. Not really interested in high speeds, just more lead in the air. I am actually trying to get some good pheasant loads. I like to let the birds get a little farther out so that the pellets slow down a little and don't tear up the meat so bad. It also gives me a few seconds to make sure the dog stays put (pointer) before I take the shot. By the time they get to 35 yards or so, I'm not able to hit them hard enough to keep them from running when they land.
Also, if someone can point me to a message board that has some pretty good discussions on reloading shotshells, I would appreciate that too.
Thanks, Mark

I used a MEC 600 Jr for 20 years. If I were going to get into shotshell reloading again I'd look at the MEC line of products.

Thanks, Mark i really can't recomend a 3" load, as i only load for 2&3/4 mostly, but you can go to the different poder manufacturers websites like hodgden, hercules or alliant and download a lot of different loads
