During the holidays I tend to reflect not only the past year, but past years. For the past two years, my view has changed perspectives.
Without going through the whole painful story, suffice it to say that I have walked a mile in some other Indian's moccasins.
Until two years ago, Christmas would come along and oftentimes it would cross my mind, "I really need to call or write so-and-so. He/she has really had it rough." More times than not, I failed to follow through with my warm, fuzzy intentions.
Being on the other end, the recipient of "rough times," I know all too well just how important a note or a quick phone call can be--just how much it is needed and longed for.
Because of circumstances, we may not know what to say; we may be afraid of saying the wrong thing. But being on the other side of the warm, fuzzies, I can tell you this: It is far better to experience an awkward moment on the telephone than to believe we have been forgotten, or not made a difference in someone's life, rather, to have simply faded away...unnoticed.
Take the time to contact that someone you are thinking of right now. They need to hear from you.....
Holiday Blessings from my house to yours......

very good thoughts. it seems to me that thinking of others is almost non existant around the holidays at the local mall, just look in the news.
your sediemt are correct. i think most of us have been on hard time at one point in our life. the love and caring feeling you get when some one has unselfishly given to help makes you feel special.
i have given to others in return and the felling is great when you can help some one and to see the look in their face is repayment enough. no matter how small the help is it is appriciated.
