I was wondering if anyone has shot BH209 in their Encore 209x50s yet and if so what volume of BH209 did you use and with what bullets and sabots did you use, what primers did you use and lastly what was your most accurate load?
I have a Encore 209x50 that was among the first models T/C ever made and it has been gathering dust ever since I bought the 10ML-II. Now that BH209 is out and I have some I would like to give the Encore a work out at the range once again.
Thanks, Arthur.

Like most rifles shooters, you or your rifle will likely prefer something different than ours. We had good luck with most of the common ML bullets and charges from 100grs up to 120grs. Nothing really stood out head and shoulders above the rest, but the 275gr Parker BE in a short black MMP ahead of 110grs BH209 is what we settled on. Any standard 209 primer seems to work fine, but as I have more WWs than the others that is our primer of choice. We do have to drill out the channel of the breachplug every 12-15 shots or hangfires will start to happen. Ours has their new speedbreach plug and a 1/8" drill bit does the trick.

I have a new T/C Pro Hunter and have been reading posts to become familiar with possible problems associated with the new Bh209. In this thread, I see where the breach plug needs to be drilled out 1/8" to clear fouling on occassion. I see my plug is about 1/8" at the primer end and necks down very small at the chamber. Does this mean to drill out just the interior portion of the plug to clean it, or drill out the entire length of the plug to 1/8". Sorry if this is a stupid question, just don't want to damage anything on a misunderstanding.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, just don't want to damage anything on a misunderstanding. Only drill out the interior part of the plug. No reason at all to alter the design. If you clean your plug with hoppes you probably wont need to drill at all.

Grouse, thanks for the clarification. I figured that I was reading to much into this. This is my first inline. A whole new world from my (2) Lyman great plains rifles. Looking forward to getting it smokin.
