Thanks for posting. It is indeed a very sobering reminder that we MUST NEVER LET OUR GUARD DOWN!!!!! IMO we already let our guard down. Hunters and shooters needed to ban together this last election but we voted for "Change" instead. How hard do you really think it would be to past more gun laws with a Democratic President, House, and Senate? WE have over 4000 gun laws on the books now. The only people affected is the law abiding citizens. Like or dislike the NRA, but without them IMO we would be in the same boat as England back during the Clinton administrations. Steve

Here in Iowa the County Sheriff issues permits to carry. It is at the complete discretion of the Sheriff who gets one. My Dad had a permit since he was 18 at 62 he retired as a security guard. The Sheriff revoked it and said he didn't need one anymore. Dad is now 86. Two years ago I was able to reissue his permit along with several others. 16-1

People who think it can't happen here have their head in the sand. The police are becoming more and more ineffectual and the criminals have less and less fear of the law every day. Around here the only thing that deters them is the fear of getting shot by a homeowner.
I think Texas has it right; guy breaks into your house, you blow him away, no questions asked. Apparently, most everywhere else under the same circumstances you have to be in fear of your life to protect your home and property or you will likely end up like Tony Martin.
