My children got together and got me a gift for Christmas that I never consider buying for myself. I just couldn't see the point but now that I have it I'm looking forward to using it. Read the direction in the manual and played some with it. I does what it says it does. It's a long way off to the next hunting season before I'll be able to put it to work so there's plenty of time to familiarize myself with it. Wondering what it is? ;D. A digital game camera. I've walked by them in gun shops and never stop to even look. The one they bought is a Moultrie. Now my concern will be where do I put it and not get it stolen

i do think they make things to help keep them from getting stolen. Mine came in a case and 2 bungie cords to hold it to a tree. Don't think that'll do it .

Now that is a nice gift from the family that does have 2-parts to exercise. 1) Is learning how to use it to get the best efficiency from it. 2) Applying the “Art of Concealment” to keep it from getting permanently borrowed.
For #2 actually think of it as test to see how sharp your mind still is? Impress the family and as a representative of us middle aged guys, make us proud. ;D
Kidding aside my hunter partner got a field camera earlier this year and got some pictures of the deer in our area. Also caught a few nomads trekking private property. Knowing now that they are there he intends to have a little rendezvous with these young bucks to personally point out the property line. Our farm location basically is used for travel and escape routes by deer. Don’t need others who don’t have permission to hunt the property to annoy us by putting up any roadblocks for our 1-week muzzle-load hunt.
Guess bucks aren’t the only ones that can be territorial.

The land I hunt on is privately owned by a family member and for years my hunting partner and I were the only ones there. For the past few years a couple of others had permission. This year there were a bunch of other hunters in there. In fact one morning there was a hunter sitting in my blind when I got there. He politely left. Whether or not they had permission, I don't know but I mentioned it to my uncle and he will take steps next year. As I said before I'm heading north to my cabin at the lake next week and will take the unit with me. Lots of deer there and plan to put it on a tree in my yard to see what happens.
