Well, I got a package from Eric Kettenburg today containing Gretchen, my Serpentine Lock Handgonne. She is based on a gun first drawn in 1411 in an Austrian manuscript. Very nicely done, I have to say that Mr. Kettenburg did some great work with such an early style firearm! I'm going to have to wait until the weather is more agreeable to the use of slowmatch though. Hopefully I should have her going BOOM by the end of March. I have posted some pics at my website at www.geocities.com/Area51/Vault/1945/Guns/Mgonne.htmGretchen is the gun at the bottom of the page.

Sounds like a nice piece, you would be hard pressed to fine anyone better than Eric to recreate and original gun, his work is about the best out there.

Have you ever tried to deer hunt with one of those?

Have you ever tried to deer hunt with one of those? I don't hunt. Just target shooting and demonstrations of early firearms.

When Eric finishes a gun complete with scraper marks and a finish comparable to what was done in the past it is a work of art in the eyes of most........others might consider it an amateur attempt when compared to the slick shinney "perfect" guns many try to produce.
