The Maine Powder House is now selling Goex powder. At this time they only have FFg and FFFg in stock and would think they will have the full line in the near future. The price is $10.80 per can or $270.00 a case and this is the total price including shipping, Haz-Mat and the price of the powder. Just thougth you would like to know.

Rundball, I'd check with them now and see how much they are charging. I understand Goex had a big price increase last month.

What torques me is J&J charges the same price if you walk in the door and pick it up yourself too.

That is right Birddog. So I'd just order mine from J .R. at the Maine Powder House. He will treat you right.

Back when I got the quote from J&J, which is only 25 minutes from me, the price was around $230/25# pick-up. I checked with MPH and they quoted me around $220 shipped to my door. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I do know that less cost and no time wasted driving equals a happier me. Not trying to jam J&J here as they are the only ones around here that will allow you to walk in and buy any granulation of Goex you want....unlike the alleged "gun shops" that only have 2F & 3F sometimes and won't be bothered by ordering anything special even if you offer to pay in advance. If it ain't T/C, Lyman, RMC or Knight you can forget about finding it anywhere around here except Dixon's.
Best deal I found on powder is from Graf's. Once or twice a year they offer a special where you buy 10# and get 10% off. This works out to getting 2 pounds free if ordering 20# and even after adding their handling fee & haz-mat charge it still comes in way cheaper than anywhere else I checked. I missed the last sale because my wife accidentally tossed the flier on me. I wondered about the quality of their powder but having talked to five people so far locally that use it, they've all said they like it better than Goex.

Birddog So are you saying you wouldn't buy Goex from JR either? Even if it was same Goex as everyone else has? That makes no sense. We've gotten a bad bunch of powder too. It's not JR's fault, it's the manufacturer of the powder.

Birddog, JR is a nice fellow and I know if you told him you were having problems out of the powder he would have made it right. He does not shoot and there is no way for him to know if you get a batch of bad powder unless you tell him.
What brand/lot number was the powder?
