I'm looking for a Brown Bess. It just seems like they ought to be available for less than the prices I'm finding.
Anybody know of a good source?
Thanks.

Loyalist Arms, The Discriminating General, or Middesex Village Traders have the India made Bess's pretty cheap.

I bought a Pedersoli Bess back about 1990. $350.00 in kit form. They were $400 in the white and $450 finished. You said you've been looking for a while. So you know the prices. They won't go down. So, buy the best price as soon as you can. They could be another $100 before this fall. I sold mine in 1998 for $650. And now I have a Center/Mark Tulle I bought from Ray Woodall befor he sold the company to the new owner. I paid $400 in the white and got it quick because I picked it up, rather than having it shipped. They're a lot more than that now. Same thing with any gun you buy from any maker.

I don't think anyone is getting rich making besses. If you don't like the prices, build one yourself. Don ;D
