another successful flinter

Hi all- I normally prowl the savage ML board (My Favorite!) but thought I may post a picture of my buddy's deer from this morning- I played dog to move some deer since I got mine Fri. morning- wind was light and temps about 20*- he got into position before daybreak and I started moving about 1 1/2 hours later upwind of the field he was watching- just slow walking & making my way crosswind to move any deer his way- within 30 minutes I heard the flinter boom- waited a few minutes and cell phoned him- success! so I went to meet up with him by crossing the overgrown pasture field- made about 50 yds. before spooking an 8 point-watched him work away from me for about 5 minutes- unfortunately for him he didnt realize the neighbor was just quitting and walking out of his field -their paths intersected at the right moment and the neighbor bagged him. on the way to give congrads to him a doe spooked and ran from me past my buddy- It was nice to see shootable deer after a wasted first 4 days!here's a pic of Don's buck this morning...-Getonit-

Nice deer. Sounds like you have a good sized population to have more deer close by where your friend shot his deer.

Mama- I'd say we have a good population though we're in the "bad" side of Ohio for deer population- our area has a 1 deer limit per season -- go east 80 mi. and its 3 deer per season- I bow hunted early over that way but had Terrible weather all 4 days .....Oh-well... that's huntin! -Getonit-
