Recently picked up 12 BVSS .223 rem,w/AccuTrigger, what a gun for the money! Hot number of factory ammo thru it,got decent groups with 40 gr. Hornady Varmint X, and 50 gr.Am.Eagle Federals. What you suggest? Would love to hear your thoughts on this gun. Thanks,Oleg.

My Ruger KM77VT MKII, 1:12 twist, 26 inch barrel .223 likes Federal match ammo with a Sierra 69 gr HPBT. When I do my part it shoots less than an inch at 200 yards.

That is what the books say. I remember the rule as "don't over spin a light bullet". That said, my subjective view is that .223 rifles are finicky as to what they like to eat. I've had the most difficulty predicting which weight bullet will work best based upon twist for this caliber than any other caliber I've shot. Of course my opinion and 50 cents will get you a cup of coffee someplaces. Keep trying different ammo till you find one that the rifle says is right. I don't reload .223 much because it can be cheaper to buy, but if you are looking super accuracy reloading is the way to go. However you go about it .223s are fun to shoot!

Do you reload? 24.5gr to 25.5gr of AA-2015 and a 50gr Sierra Blitz shoot GREAT in my Savage .223...

Ouestion for Herman and Big6x6, How is shooting with them bipods? Does it affect accuracy or downrange trajectory? Never used those but considering. Thanks,Oleg.

Well..as you may be able to see...the Choate stock is designed to do just that...shoot WITH the bipod! It even as an elevation adjustment on the buttstock. This is one rifle that I shoot EXCLUSIVELY WITH the bipod in place when working up loads. Although I'll probably never see the guns ABSOLUTE accuracy...it sure does good enough!
