Anybody has experience with this scope? Wanna get into varmint shooting some more, budget limited for today. Read some good reviews. Plan on using it on heavy,Savage 12bvss, .223 rem,if convinced of its usefulness. Have always had vari-power scopes on my guns, would be nice to get back to the simplicity of the fixed. What you all think?

That's what I like too. With mirage, range, light conditions ever changing, it's nice to have a magnification option. A Weaver V-16 isn't all that expensive and an EXCELLENT scope.

well, I bought one new in the factory wrapper. The lateral adjustment did not work, had to send it back to the factory for repair, cost me shipping and $10 fee.
One more thing to consider, the 10x40 has no parallax adjustment, that might be important to some, but not all. Probably more important if you are shooting up close with 10x.
just my thoughts, it was a clear scope and bright too.

Bubba,You must've been around guns for a while, I like to hear your expertise, thanks! Now,after they fixed that scope, how is it performing? MidwayUSA's reviews it pretty good, imagine it uses real users reviews, that is what got me interested initially. I bought that Savage 12bvss barely used ,came w/BSA 24x scope and couple hundred rounds of factory ammo. It shot 1/2" five shot groups right away with Federals American Eagle flat base 50gr.HP. 55gr FMJ were all over though. I didn't really care for that "monster 24x",so it is gonna go first. That 10x Bushnell seems enticing enough, $200 or so. What made You pick it,Bubba? Mil-Dot and tactical knobs sound interesting too, never bothered to learn ranging with that system, feeling up for challenge now. Leupold in that set up are in $ 1000+ price bracket. Anything you, guys know will be read and given a good long thought,Oleg
