:-/I have been involved with the Savage ML recently but I am ready to set it aside and get back to the fun of the 17HMR. Spring is just ahead and it is a nice time to sit in my hunting shack and keep my eyes peeled for .17HMR targets. I was up there this afternoon for only a few minutes checking on the timber cutters and seen an armadillo. They are excellent targets for the HMR and we try to keep the numbers low. Actually, they act as dumb as a doornail but since they choose to live in the south maybe they are not so dumb after all. I am seeing several roadrunners also but I don't shoot them. Never have. They are supposed to be snake killers and I don't like poisonous snakes. Hopefully, I will get me a coyote with the HMR. I see several road killed deer. I may get a younger man to help me and stake a couple down to watch. I don't even know if that season is open now or not. Better check that out. But I will find something to shoot with my HMR. I love shooting that little rifle. Ben

Ben, AR's coyote season has been lengthened. It is in effect from July 1 thru Feb 28. The 17HMR has been surprisingly effective on coyotes with the 17 V-max, 17 and 20g XTPs. The 20XTP is my favorite bullet/round in the 17 now. No need to re-site out to 150 yds.
