Has anyone used the 30 caliber 110 gr Sierra JHP? What is a good load for a 300 WSM?

I tried them out of an '06 years ago and gave up. Couldn't make them shoot. IMO 100 grain bullets are a little light for a 300 WSM but you never know with the right powder maybe.

I had some in a 308. Got them for coyote and such. At close range and 308 velocity they were explosive. I would say impact in the 3200 fps range. Less damage further out.

The 100grain bullet is most likely to short to for the 30-06. The load I use in my 300wsm is 48.5G of 4064 and a 150 grain sierra game king. I have found that this bullet is a poor choice for just about any critter that is bigger than a coyote. The bullet will fragment and fall apart. It is very accurate in my rifle I have made 2 shots on caribou at 500 lasered yards. the bullets blew apart but they did there job. i have killed 1 whitetail at 50 yards again the bullet blew to pieces. The reason I use them is for the coyotes I just love blowing big holes in them. I won't use them on any other animal now that I know how the fall apart[][/im g]
