Rivers Edge Announces Treestand Recall CUMBERLAND, WI—Rivers Edge announced a recall this week of its Big Foot Series and Lite Foot Series treestands. Rivers Edge says customers should stop using the stands immediately because if the strap mounting bracket loosens or rotates, the strap hook can release, causing the treestand to detach from the tree. The company says it's received three reports of hunters falling to the ground after their stands detached from the tree. The recalled Big Foot and Lite Foot Series of treestands are "hang-on" stands that can be identified by a yellow warning label affixed to the stand that reads: "Rivers Edge Hunting Products." The treestands have dual post seat uprights and a gold-colored strap hook bracket. Rivers Edge says only treestands with the gold-colored bracket are included in this recall. Consumers should call (800) 204-7435 or visit Rivers Edge's Web site at www.ardisam.com for free replacement hardware for self-installation.

Great to post up this info Doug! Here another popular stand where there was a safety recall near end of last deer season. A lot of folks have API's so be sure to check which Model you have. API Climbers safety recall: www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml03/03027.html The recalled treestands have the following brand names and model numbers: API Hi-Point Cable Cat Climbing Treestand, Model #CC501 and API Buckmaster Grand Slam Climbing Treestand, Model #GS3800BM. Also, a good contact to check out status of treestand safety certification info: www.tmastands.com/index.php
