Ok now that I've got your attention, especially you Batchief, whilst I was perusing the net I found this new bullet put out by MDM the makers of the BuckWhacka. Sorta like a Thompson Maxi-Ball clad in plastic and wonder lube. I'm gonna post a link and while you are over at MDM's site take a look at their rifles that they advertise will shoot 200grs of Pyro. www.emainehosting.com/mdm-muzzleloaders/dynocore.htmJack

Jeff, I might try the bullets but I'll pass on the gun. They do say the rifles are made of 400 steel though. I think that may be an improvement over their previous rifles. Just trying to incite some enthusiam around here. Where's all those talkative guys like Loggy and Surveyor anyways??

The bullets look interesting. It'd be interesting to see how they performed on game. I don't know where Surveyor is. Haven't heard much from him today. Loggy's probably at Brownies Tavern, joining in on the fun. That place gets crazy!

Jack, I think I'll pass on both gun and bullets. That bullet looks as wacky as some of my "creations". I got Mark Lynch kinda fired up about using some of the www.corbins.com/pr-bball.htm Corbin Bullet Balls in a lighter weight conical with a lot of bearing surface. Actually my idea was about as wrong as you could get and was using something other than those to fill some space. Turns out he had been thinking of doing this very sort of experiment for awhile. I think the notion is that he could make a bullet with a hole running up from the base, insert the balls, then finish the bullet base via swaging. I was trying to figure a way to shoot something more pleasant in my little G2 but still retain most of the advantages of big conicals when I got to thinking about partially filling a bullet with a lighter material. Was going to fill it mostly from the nose though and that concept just wasn't going to work. Mark's notion might. Swaging is a whole other world apart from the casting I'm familiar with and has fewer limits on what can be made. This bullet you've posted looks interesting, but the bore butter lube kind of turns me off. Something like Bob Bower's lube or the lube Mose uses (LBT Blue Soft last I knew) would be better. Also, I could find no real way to check pricing or place an order for those oddities.

UC, yep the bore butter is a definite turn off for me also. But I do sorta like the looks of the bullet. If Mark comes up with a swaged bullet like that I will have to give them a try. It would be nice to see a bullet that was not quite a conical and not quite a sabot but fell into a category somewhere in between.

Cripes, they must be using gold dust in their bore butter. That price is ridiculous. I don'tt imagine they are a hot seller.
