i bought my son a rossi 410/22 youth combo and was looking at one the other day in a store that had a 45 ml barrel with it. does anybody have any experience with these or should i just get him a ml instead?

I don't own one. It's been a while since I read any post about ROSSI muzzy loaders. But most have been very questionable except for this one die hard that wanted a ROSSI he bought for his wife to shoot. I don't remember if he ever got it to shoot? Buy the boy a good rifle! Unless you're just bound and determined to find a way to get that ROSSI to shoot? ? H&R Handi Rifles make a good shooting 50 cal muzzle loader that won't break the bank. They seem to shoot sabots and conicals very well.

I'd get a H&R or New England Firearms gun. They're made in the US, reputable, and just as inexpensive as the Rossi. Some models can also accomdate muzzleloader as well as rifle barrels.
