I had one, and I shot the 250gr Shockwave in mine. The 300gr Shockwave should be a good choice. 777 should do well for you, 100 would be a good starting point. If you hit on an accurate load right away, great, otherwise, you can try going down to 90 or 95 grains, or up to 110 or 120 grains.
Make sure you lube the breech plug well, and after about 5 shots, you may want to break it loose and then re-tighten.
With 777, you should probably swab between every shot, or at least between every two or three shots. Your gun will tell you which one.

My gun shoots 150g of 777 pellets with the bullet you want to use and will put them all in one large hole at a 100 yards. I get .5" groups with 250g shock waves. If I shoot the same grains in Hornadys SST offerings of both the 300g and 250g the groups open up to 1" and 1.5". The quick load tails even make it worse. They group around 2.5" for me.

I have an early stainless Omega which will not shoot Tripple Seven without the worlds worst crud ring. If yours exibits the crud ring that will not allow a second load then you might consider Pyrodex or even the new BH209 which is expensive but very clean. I have seen a couple of reports of good results with an Omega and the new powder. Black Mag'3 also worked well in my rifle with any sabot/bullet that I could get to go down the barrel (Omega barrels are very small diameter and tight with most loads). Unfortunately Black Mag'3 is apparently impossible to find anymore. Not sure if they are still in business. With the new BH209 any rifle that will use a 209 primer will likely do better with BH209 than BM3.

I get what you would refer to a crud ring right in front of the breech plug. I clean with TC #13 bore cleaner in between each shot and I have to be careful to slowly work my wet patch up and down the bore before I get to this point or my cleaning jag will get stuck in the crud ring. I have been told that TC makes a new cleaner called TC 17 that eats right through this ring but I will not change due to my exceptional grouping. If you clean you gun in between each shot, which you should, there is not a problem and great accuracy will be your results.

It's a saboted bullet. reviews.basspro.com/2010/82231/reviews.htmCan't really help you on the conical question, I haven't shot one out of a muzzleloader in quite a long time.
