This is one of the best marinades I have tried!
1-1/2 cups sugar 1 T garlic (I like a little more) 3 T salt 1 Qt soy sauce (Kikoman's is best) 1-1/2 cup cider vinegar 2 cups red wine 3 lg. cans pineapple juice
Mix all ingredients in a glass jar. Yields 1 1/2 gallons

Boy, that's a lot of marinade. How long does it keep?

I would not try to keep it for more than a few days myself, you can either scale back the recipe or give some to a friend(s). This recipe comes from a commercial steakhouse and I have not changed the proportions, but it is very good. They probably would prefer to keep it a secret, but I doubt if Alexander's does business in Canada. P.S. Writing this post reminded me that I have not used this recipe for a while so I made a small batch and I have some steaks soaking right now. Try this marinade with any kind of wild or domestic steak that you have, as well as upland or domestic birds of any kind, you wont be disappointed.
