Has anyone tried the new mojo doves and if so what were the results? Also what about the new dove decoys from Expedite International that was being sold by Wal-Mart this year for $1.87 ea. It appears they are very well made and super realistic. Wal-Mart was also selling the (new) style mojo doves with on/off switch for an incredible price of $38.87 ea, that is wholesale for most retailers. I personally have had mixed results using them, but as whole would recommend using them along with the Expedite hard body dove decoys and a tower or the top out of a dead tree. What is your opinion? I have used the mojo dove (original) for about 3 seasons now. It has helped me get a few birds that I wouldn't have gotten. I also started putting a few decoys around the mojo dove and that helped too. I don't go dove hunting without the mojo.

Predator 11, last year we were using the mojos in a shelled cornfield and the doves were coming in to feed and when they would see the mojos the brakes would come on. It was some of the best dove hunting we have ever had.
This year so far we have had mixed results. As of yet the birds haven't migrated down into our area yet. There wasn't that many local birds to begin with.
I made two dove towers that are 18' tall with double cross bars to simulate electric wires. I place a total of 8 hard body decoys and 1 wind activated dove decoy on top in the center. The tower is made up of 1" metal conduit and 3/4" sch 40 plastic pipe. The cross bars are 1/2" oak dowels and all is painted gray. There are 3 braided nylon tie downs held by tent stakes in the ground that hold the whole thing plumb and straight. We made a special pin you drive in the ground that the conduit goes on. We haven't had a chance to try it out yet where there is several doves. I have noticed if doves are coming to your location they seem to work and if they are just passing thru nothing seems to detour or attract them. We are thinking about getting some dove calls to use in conjunction with the decoys to see if that will help also. I hope we get some migrating doves in before deer season starts to heat up. Pocampo

Yes if you have a field where the birds want to come they will buzz the decoy and give you some shooting. Single doves will sometimes do the same as they tend to flock up. I think some of the farther doves just don't see the decoy and are not attracted. I see more and more Mojos in the field and think that some of the effect is lost as birds are attracted and shot at. The next time they might not be so willing to come in.

predator 11, I agree and that is the reason for the wind activated dove decoy on top of the tower to simulate a dove landing on the wires. The trouble is it doesn't work if there is NO WIND. I am in the process of making an adapter to hold a mojo on top of the tower. I think this will really help. Also i've noticed as soon as the battery starts to weaken and the mojo wings start turning slower it looses its appeal. The strobe effect is best when using fresh batteries. Pocampo
