I need help. I have a Sav model 93(Canadian made rimfire for Savage) that was a 22 Mag which Kevin Rayhill rebarreled for 17 HMR. The gun is beautiful with excellent aftermarket trigger and have a 2.5X10 4200 on it. Shoots well, but not quite as accurately as the bull barreled, timney triggered Marlin. It mis-fires every 4th or 5th round. I sent it back twice, at my expense, he says it never mis-fires for him. It does so with all 4 different types of ammo I've tried. About 5-10 years ago the publication Gun Tests had a 22 Mag comparison but they didn't recommend the Sav model 93 because of repeated mis-fires. Guess they don't have the problem fixed. I need help. Ideas. The indentation in the case looks normal. Thanks for any ideas.

I think the first thing I would have checked is the head space. The next would be to replace the firing pin
