I have a pre-64, top eject model 94 in 30-30.
I would like to mount a scope on it, anyone know who makes a mount that is no modifications (permanent) mount?
I would like to put a forward mount on it, but I dont think that will work either.
thanks in advance

I have a Win. 94 that has a Williams side mount . It is a nice set up and the spent cart. still ejects ok. www. natchezss.com ( #ct1wu1181) Williams #SM-70 $36/37 I would suggest offset hammer added but it works with out one.

A side mount permits a scope but it isn't ideal by any means. The 94 in thurty thurty caliber is a great handling short range deer rifle. Never a tack driver but perhaps holds the all time record for number of deer killed. I would never try mounting a scope on one for my use and it seems to ruin the appearance IMO. To each his own I suppose. BTW, as a point of safety never use pointed ammunition because it could cause a dangerous situation when the point of one cartridge is resting on the primer of the one forward within the tube magazine. Recoil has caused a terrible explosion with hard nosed pointed ammo. Factory ammo is not pointed as you know. Maybe there are exceptions with special designed ammo.

You can't have pointy bullets in the mag tube unless it is those new Hornady plastic tip ones. I know one guy the reloaded some spitzers and then single loads one and then loads the mag with RNs for follow up shots.

If you mount the scope 1.5 above the bore or 1" left and 1.5 above the bore what is the difference. If you are dead on the bull at 100 yd you might be 3/4" low and 1/2" to the right at 50 and 150 yards. How many can shoot that well in field conditions to even tell that it is a side mount. you would have to be nuts to target shoot against some one using a mod 94.

It is a little uncomfortable trying to shoot without putting your cheek on the stock. I suppose I would be nuts target shooting against a Model 94 but if the money was right I guess I would try. LOL

Sorry, I read the wrong meaning there. You meant using a 94 shooting against others. Yep, you would no doubt be a loser.
