Just going through my reloading manual and says can either use large rifle or magnum primers. What do you think?

Some feel unless your using ball powder or large case capacity ie: over 80grs than no need for mag primers. True but factor in -40 and slower burning powders a pow is what i want to hear so I keep migrating back to mag primers in mag rifles. Just in case maybe but I feel better so I'll stick with my regiment.
Good Luck and enjoy your new rifle.

I looked long and hard at this so I bought a couple hundred Win Mag primers today. Interesting thing today. Drop $50 today on primers, brass and Lee brass to length trimmer. Got home and resized the new brass with the dies I bought yesterday and found out my chamfering and deburring tool wouldn't work on the 300 WSM brass, at least the deburring part of the tool. Ended up dropping another $20 on an RCBS tool . Got $120 invested now and still haven't bought powder or bullets. I'm pretty sure I'll go with IMR 4350 and was looking at bullets. Narrowed down to Nosler Accubond or Hornady Interbond. Plenty of time to make that decision since range in no shape to go to now or near future.

Both good bullet choices. I have found the AB easier to work with, though the IB if you do find a load shoot and performs very well. I was in my reloading room and had a boo through my reloading log, I made a booboo in powder mentions it was IMR 4831 not H4831 which the 165's worked well with. Sorry about that!! IMR 4350 is always a good place to start though. Yeah isn't it always the way you make the investment only to be nickle and dimed further. Oh well still fun! I hear ya on hurry up and wait, winter has been far to long this year it seems. Enjoy

I noticed that the interbond were $10 cheaper/100 than the Noslers. Something I'll have to consider.

For load work up and informal target work, Nosler sells cosmetic seconds. I can't find anything wrong with them but you save a bunch. For chucks and general target work I use them and have not found any problems.

Use to be darn near 20 bucks cheaper, as recently as last fall ! I have always liked hornady's performance on game/price point but as a general rule nosler have been easier to get shooting, in my experience. Their performance on game has also been a none issue. Unfortunately the only way is to try. Edge seconds up here are very rare, sometimes you'll see them at a gunshow but I've never seen them in a store personally. Ordering via the states is touch and go with anything firearm related these days, not to mention the additional s&h charges, duty and exchange can make a sizable discount not to much once the dust settles!

Is it a problem when they come direct from the manufacturer? I admit that I had not considered the Border issues. They have gone up recently, the 180 AB 2nds are now 15.95/50 up 2 bucks since December Same price for the Partitions which works out to a great price break vs. an OK price break. edge.

SNIP They have gone up recently, the 180 AB 2nds are now 15.95/50 up 2 bucks since December edge. That price sounds good until you factor in the exchange, shipping and handling, duty, brokerage fees. Last fall I ordered a couple of laser bore sighters from Cabelas. They started out at 39.95 each. Total was 79.90. My cost when they got here, $121 and change. The exchange rate changes daily but I'm guessing all the other things cost me over $20, 1/2 the price of one unit. Some time we poor Canucks are better off to buy at home, unfortunetly. Some neat stuff in some of them catelogues
