TC makes fine arms. The recent Guns and Ammo ran a story on the Icon and the new issue of Sports Afield or Outdoor Life reviewed the Icon. An accurate, good looking rifle that may not be available until about April or May I believe it said.

As far as the 770 it is just a rework of the 710 and those that I shot were ether good or a piece crap. One was decent and three were not worth buying. As far as bang for your buck the Stevens is a better buy, at least you can rebarrel the Stevens and Savage aftermarket parts bolt right on.
The TC Icon is neat with a lot of cool engineering and features but probly $300 more then the 770 or Stevens

I know the feeling. I have a .375 H&H AI magnum. I have no problems with buffs or elephants for that matter here in Ohio since I got the same. It must keep them away.

One of the guys around here has a .460 Weatherby and hasn't had any elephant problems since he got it. He runs an auto junkyard and the first thing he does is show people what it does to various thicknesses of plate and he has no problem of afterhours part pilfering.
