Ok, I'll be the first. A couple of 8 Pointers I have mounted. They have been in the furnace room for a while but I think I have the Mrs. convinced they deserve a home upstairs with the rest of the folks. ;D Just ignor that little spikie in the background. Dont know how he got in there anyway. ;D www.hunt101.com/img/087888.jpg [/img]

Nice looking deer. Did you do the taxidermy yourself? How did you get them? With a rifle, shotgun, mz? You can't post a picture like this and not give us the details.

mamaflinter: sorry about that, but I did a quick post before hittin the road to work this morning.
I have quite a variety of deer, bear and other stuff mounted thanks to my Dad being a taxidermist while here on this earth me. He also was a very talented hunter and trapper who I learned so much from. He taught me most of his tricks but I think ole Dad held a few back so I could explore/learn for myself. ;D Each year out there I seem to learn something new.
The three 8 Pts were all killed in PA. The guy on left side of pic was shot with a 300 Win Mag Model 700 SS DM using 180 grain Hornady Interlok bullets. He was shot at approx 30 yds so I had plenty of gun! ;D He came in behind me so gettin a shot of on back side of treestand was a little tricky. I hit him in frt shoulder and he flipped over on his back end of story.
The middle 8 PT. fell to my 06 Rem 700 ADL shooting 165 Rem Core Loks. Also a real close shot approx 25-30 yds. I do most of my huntin out of treestands hunting fairly heavy cover so many of my deer are taken fairly close.
The right 8 PT. 06 Rem 700 &165 grain core lok. I shot him at approx 75 yds right before dark and was several miles from Dad's truck. By the time i gutted him it was pitch dark. Me like a dummy decided to drag him out not thinkin how worried Dad would be when I came out of the woods couple hours after dark. Boy did i get my butt reamed out by Dad! It was a mighty quiet ride back to our huntin camp in that ole Chevy truck. ;D After we got back to camp he did shake my hand and gave me a hug sayin nice buck there Son! That was always our tradition whenever either one of us would kill a deer, turkey or bear.
I was just afraid of leavin him in the woods and not being able to find him later. Was the last time I pulled such a stunt though. ;D
