Well folks it was a dismal year as far as hunting went, the weather was not cold, but I still managed to harvest a spike off federal forest land. I saw only 2 deer in a week in the woods. between 4 of us hunting, we saw 5 deer total in 1 week. Fact is that I saw more coyotes than anything!

I shot this guys heart out, the top 1/3 of the heart was destroyed by the nosler partition bullet ( .277, 130gr @ 2650 fps ) a very mild load.

Good job. The hunters here aren't seeing as many deer as normal either. I think the weather is still a bit warm for the time of year and the deer are just not beginning to get in the rut.
